Consulting

The Managed Web (TMW) is an Internet Solutions Provider in Web site and Web applications.  We know from experience what it takes to deliver the right solution for your current to future needs.

Three key elements play a strong factor in success, first is the Discovery Phase that scopes to understand your business requirements and future direction.  Secondly is organizing the results and recommendations from the Discovery Phase into the Project Plan that outlines project phases within a timeline and budgets.  And, thirdly is linking the deliverables into your marketing plan.

As a solutions provider, from the gathered requirements of the Discovery Phase we recommend modular solutions with the corresponding technology.  We are not bound to one technological framework in developing in ASP.net, PHP, HTML or utilizing one content management solution over another.  We match the most appropriate technological framework solution to best suit your requirements, budgets, future expansion and user acceptability.

The Managed Web delivers the consultations of the Discovery Phase and Project Plan for your Web site that will outline your requirement needs, TMW recommendations, technology, deployment, user training, user acceptance, timelines and budgets.   Once a clear understanding and path has been outlined, TMW can also implement their recommendations, provide hosting and user support.

TMW can also perform the consultations with a non biased opinion for TMW does not have to play a role in the development of the new site but strictly acts as consultants in deriving and delivering your requirements through these consultation documents.

Discovery Phase

Prior to starting work on designing or redesigning a Web site, we recommend building a road map for the work to be completed.  The Discovery Phase looks 3 years down the road on future requirements and makes suggestions.  The Project Plan can spread the workload and costs over a 3 year timeline.

The Discovery Phase, allows us to:

• Take a snap shot of the current status,
• understand the needs requirements and direction allowing us to proactively recommend strategies, functionality and technology for the upgrades,
• present our draft report, review and finalize direction,
• and present final discovery phase report.

Project Plan

The Project Plan takes the results of the Discovery Phase report and lays out measurable milestones to assist in implementing the Web site Redesign.  The Project Plan can spread the workload within a 3 year timeline in manageable phases and achievable budgets.

The Project Plan breaks down priorities into manageable phases, projects and tasks corresponding to deliverable timeframes, user acceptance and budgets.  This is accomplished by:

1. Projects are broken down into phases
2. Phases are broken down into tasks
3. tasks are allocated an estimated time to complete and costs associated to each task, each task involves:

a. beta - delivery of project in a beta application to allow testing and feedback,
b. revisions - changes made from beta,
c. training - training to staff,
d. user acceptance - time required for staff to use and feel comfortable with the completed project before the next phase is started.

Once all the projects are outlined the project management timeframe is created.   The sequence of projects in the timeframe are dependent on:

1. Priority of each project,
2. time and costs required to complete the projects for that year,
3. the allocated yearly budget.
